The customer register is shared by the webshop and the till. A customer may have shopped online, in store, or both, and you find their whole history together on the customer. With customer groups you can give selected customers their own prices, their own products or automatic discounts – for example for business customers or members.

Before you start

The customer permissions are «Se kunder» (View customers), «Redigere og slette kunder» (Edit and delete customers) and «GDPR data-eksport» (GDPR data export). See Users, roles and permissions.

Creating and editing a customer

  1. Go to «Kunder» (Customers) → «Kunder».
  2. Press «Ny kunde» (New customer), or click an existing customer to edit.
  3. Fill in «Kundeinformasjon» (Customer information): «Fornavn» (First name), «Etternavn» (Last name), «E-post» (E-mail), «Telefon» (Phone) and optionally «Kundereferanse» (Customer reference).
  4. For business customers, fill in «Bedriftsnavn» (Company name) and «Org.nummer» (Organisation number) under «Bedrift» (Company).
  5. Under «Adresser» (Addresses), add one or more addresses and mark which is the «Standard leveringsadresse» (Default delivery address) and «Standard fakturaadresse» (Default billing address).
  6. Under «Brukerkonto» (User account) you can link the customer to a webshop login account.
  7. Under «Kundegrupper» (Customer groups), tick the groups the customer belongs to.
  8. Press «Opprett» (Create) for a new customer, or «Lagre endringer» (Save changes) when editing.

The edit page for a customer with customer groups

Everything about the customer in one place

At the bottom of the customer page you find tabs with the customer's history, including «Ordrer» (Orders), «Bookinger» (Bookings), «Abonnementer» (Subscriptions), «Fakturaer» (Invoices), «Betalingsmetoder» (Payment methods), «Stempelkort» (Stamp cards) and «Kontrollspor» (Audit trail). Which tabs you see depends on the features your shop uses.

Customer groups

Go to «Kunder» → «Kundegrupper». Every shop starts with the group «Privatkunder» (Private customers), which is the default group.

Creating a customer group:

  1. Press «Ny kundegruppe» (New customer group).
  2. Enter «Navn» (Name), for example «Bedriftskunder» (Business customers).
  3. Enter «Handle» – a unique short identifier without spaces, for example business.
  4. Switch on «Standard kundegruppe» (Default customer group) only if this group should be the default.
  5. Press «Opprett». Then add customers to the group from the customer page.

The «Type» column in the list shows «Manuell» (Manual) for groups you manage yourself, and «Abonnement» (Subscription) for groups managed automatically by a subscription. Each subscription product gets its own group, named «Abonnement:» followed by the product name. Customers with an active subscription are added to the group automatically and removed when the subscription is no longer active. These groups cannot be chosen on the customer. This lets you, for example, give subscribers a member price.

What can customer groups be used for?

UseWhere you set it
Special prices – for example a business price or volume discount for a groupOn the product variant: choose «Kundegruppe» (Customer group) and optionally «Min. antall» (Min. quantity) on the price line.
Visibility – products only selected groups can see and buyOn the product: «Synlighet for kundegrupper» (Visibility for customer groups). No selection = visible to everyone.
Automatic discountsOn the discount: «Kunder og kundegrupper» (Customers and customer groups).

See Prices, VAT and customer group prices and Line and whole-sale discounts.

Groups marked «auto» in these lists are subscription groups.

Deleting a customer

Press «Slett» (Delete) on the customer page. Customers with orders, till transactions, subscriptions, bookings, gift cards or punch cards cannot be deleted – they must be kept as accounting records. The button is then greyed out, and hovering over it tells you why. To remove the personal data of such a customer, use «Anonymiser / slett persondata» (Anonymise / delete personal data). See Customer data access and deletion (GDPR).

With «Slett valgte» (Delete selected) in the customer list you can delete several customers at once. Customers that cannot be deleted are skipped.

Good to know

  • Customers who shop at the till without being registered end up on «Kontantkunde» (walk-in customer). See Customer on the sale and Kontantkunde.
  • If credit sales are switched on for your shop, the customer page has a «Kreditt» (Credit) button where you set the credit limit and payment terms. See Invoicing and credit sales.
