How to give a discount in percent or kroner on one item line or the whole sale, and how to use a coupon code at the till.

At the till you can give a discount in three ways: on one item line (line discount), on the whole sale (order discount) or with a coupon code. The discount is shown in the cart and on the receipt, and it is counted on the X- and Z-reports.

Before you start

  • You need the permission «Gi rabatt i kassen (per linje, hele salget eller kupong)» (Give discounts at the till). Without it, neither the % button on the lines nor «Rabatt» under «Mer» is shown.

Line discount

  1. Tap the % button on the item line.
  2. The «Linjerabatt» (Line discount) window opens. Choose «Prosent (%)» (percent) or «Beløp (kr)» (amount).
  3. Enter the discount on the keypad.
  4. Tap «Bruk rabatt» (Apply discount).

The line now shows the original amount struck through and the new amount in green. The % button stays green while the line has a discount.

Order discount (whole sale)

  1. Tap «Mer» (More) and choose «Rabatt» («Ordrerabatt eller kupongkode» – order discount or coupon code).
  2. Under «Ordrerabatt» tap «Gi ordrerabatt» (Give order discount).
  3. Choose «Prosent (%)» or «Beløp (kr)» and enter the discount.
  4. Tap «Bruk rabatt», then «Ferdig» (Done).

The «Rabatt» total now appears above «Totalt» in the cart.

The «Ordrerabatt» (Order discount) window with 10 % entered

Coupon code

  1. Tap «Mer» and choose «Rabatt».
  2. Type the code under «Kupongkode» (Coupon code), for example «SOMMER25».
  3. Tap «Bruk» (Apply).

The till tells you if the code does not work:

  • «Ugyldig eller utløpt kupongkode.» (Invalid or expired coupon code.)
  • «Denne kupongkoden gjelder ikke i kassen.» (This coupon code is not valid at the till.)
  • «Koden er aktivert, men betingelsene for rabatten er ikke oppfylt ennå.» (The code is active, but the conditions for the discount are not met yet) – for example if a minimum amount is required. The discount kicks in once the condition is met.

Coupon codes are created under «Salg» → «Rabatter» (Sales → Discounts) in the back office.

Changing or removing a discount

  • Line discount: Tap the % button on the line again. Change the value and tap «Bruk rabatt», or tap «Fjern rabatt» (Remove discount).
  • Order discount: Under «Mer» → «Rabatt» choose «Endre ordrerabatt» (Change order discount) or «Fjern» (Remove).
  • Coupon: Under «Mer» → «Rabatt» tap «Fjern» next to the code.

Good to know

  • A manual discount and a coupon cannot be combined. Applying a manual discount removes an active coupon. While a coupon is active the % buttons are hidden, and you must remove the coupon first. If you see «Fjern manuell rabatt for å bruke en kupongkode.» (Remove the manual discount to use a coupon code), remove line and order discounts before using a code.
  • A kroner discount is never larger than the line's or the sale's amount.
  • Percentage limit: A percentage discount cannot exceed the till's limit (normally 100 %). If you exceed it, «Maks rabatt er … %» (Maximum discount is … %) is shown.
  • Stamp cards: A line made free with a stamp card cannot get its own discount.
  • Loyalty club: If the customer has redeemed points as a discount on the sale, a new order discount replaces the points discount and the points are returned to the customer.
  • Parking and locking: Discounts stay with the sale when you park it or lock the till app in the browser, and are recalculated when the sale is retrieved.
  • The Android till app: Tap «Rabatt». Choose «Manuell rabatt» (manual discount) or «Kupongkode». For a manual discount choose under «Gjelder» (Applies to) either «Hele salget» (whole sale) or «Én linje» (one line), under «Type» «Prosent %» or «Kroner», and tap «Gi rabatt». For a coupon tap «Bruk kupong».
