Customer accounts in the webshop
What customers can do with an account in the webshop, which login methods you can offer, and how the account relates to the customer in the admin panel.
Your customers can check out as guests, but with a customer account they get an overview of orders, subscriptions, bookings and saved payment methods – and some products require an account. You decide which login methods customers can use.
Before you start
To change the login methods you need access to the settings under «Tilgang og sikkerhet» (Access and security).
Choosing login methods
- Go to «Innstillinger» (Settings) → «Tilgang og sikkerhet» → «Innlogging» (Login).
- Under «Nettbutikk» (Webshop) – «Innloggingsmetoder tilgjengelig for kunder i nettbutikken» (Login methods available to webshop customers) – switch on the methods you want to offer: «Passord (e-post)» (Password, e-mail), «Google», «Vipps» and «SMS-kode» (SMS code).
- Press «Lagre endringer» (Save changes).
The methods you switch on appear on the login page and as buttons at the top of checkout for customers who are not logged in.

How the customer creates an account
The customer presses «Logg inn» (Log in) at the top of the webshop and picks a login method, or creates an account with e-mail and password. Once logged in, they reach «Min konto» (My account) at the address /konto in the webshop.
What the customer sees on the account page
| Menu item | Content |
|---|---|
| «Oversikt» (Overview) | The account's start page. |
| «Personlig info» (Personal info) | Name, contact details and addresses – and «Personvern» (Privacy) with «Last ned mine data» (Download my data) and «Be om sletting» (Request deletion). |
| «Mine ordrer» (My orders) | Order history with details for each order. |
| «Bookinger» (Bookings) | The customer's bookings. |
| «Klippekort» (Punch cards) | Punch cards and remaining punches. |
| «Abonnementer» (Subscriptions) | The customer's subscriptions, with self-service. |
| «Betalingsmetoder» (Payment methods) | Saved payment cards. |
| «Fordeler» (Benefits) | Loyalty club (Smile.io) – shown only when the loyalty club is active. |
| «Stempelkort» (Stamp cards) | Stamp cards – shown only when stamp cards are switched on for the shop. |
What requires logging in?
- Punch cards are personal and tied to the account. The customer must log in or create an account before the purchase can be completed.
- Saving a card for later purchases («Lagre kortet for fremtidige kjøp») is only available to logged-in customers.
- Stamp cards are earned and redeemed in the webshop only when the customer is logged in. See Stamp cards – setup.
- Buying on invoice in the webshop is only possible for logged-in customers approved for credit. See Invoicing and credit sales.
The account and the customer in the admin panel
Every customer account belongs to a customer under «Kunder» (Customers) → «Kunder». On the customer you can see the link in the «Brukerkonto» (User account) section. There you can also link an existing account to the customer, or remove the link. See Customers and customer groups.
Good to know
- If a guest enters an e-mail address at checkout that already belongs to an account, the guest must log in or confirm the address with a one-time code before the purchase can be completed. This way nobody can use someone else's account just by typing their e-mail address.
- When the customer presses «Be om sletting», the request is recorded for the shop. You handle it yourself. See Customer data access and deletion (GDPR).
- Login methods for staff in the admin panel are set separately, in the «Administrasjon» (Administration) section on the same page.
Frequently asked questions
Can I require every customer to have an account?
No, customers can always check out as guests, except for products that require an account, such as punch cards.
A customer has forgotten their password – what do I do?
The customer can reset the password themselves with «Glemt passord» (Forgot password) on the login page. If you have enabled Vipps, Google or SMS code, the customer can also log in with one of those.
