Company details and store profile
How to enter your company name, organisation number, address, logo and colours – the details shown on receipts, in the webshop and at the till.
«Butikkprofil» (Store profile) is where you tell Cmerce who your store is. The company details are printed on every receipt, and the logo and colours are used in the webshop and on digital receipts. This is one of the first things you should fill in.
Before you start
- You need access to the appearance settings. The owner and administrators have it.
- Have the organisation number ready, and ideally a logo as an image file (max 2 MB).
Where to find the page
Go to «Innstillinger» (Settings) → «Bedrift» (Company) → «Butikkprofil». The page has two tabs: «Firmaopplysninger» (Company details) and «Utseende» (Appearance).
How to fill in the company details
- Open the «Firmaopplysninger» tab.
- Type the organisation number (9 digits) in «Organisasjonsnummer».
- Press «Hent» (Fetch). Cmerce fetches the name, address and VAT status from the Central Coordinating Register for Legal Entities (Enhetsregisteret) and fills in the fields.
- Check «Firmanavn» (Company name), «Adresse» (Address), «Postnummer» (Postcode) and «Poststed» (Town).
- Check the switches «Registrert i Merverdiavgiftsregisteret» (Registered in the VAT Register) and «Registrert i Foretaksregisteret (AS, ASA eller NUF)» (Registered in the Register of Business Enterprises).
- Fill in «Telefon» (Phone) and «E-post» (Email).
- Press «Lagre endringer» (Save changes). You see the message «Butikkprofil lagret» (Store profile saved).

What the switches mean
| Switch | When it should be on | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| «Registrert i Merverdiavgiftsregisteret» | When the company is VAT-registered | When off, «MVA» and the VAT breakdown are left off the receipts. |
| «Registrert i Foretaksregisteret (AS, ASA eller NUF)» | For limited companies, public limited companies and Norwegian-registered foreign enterprises | Prints «Foretaksregisteret» on the webshop's receipts and credit notes. |
«Hent» sets both switches automatically when Enhetsregisteret has the information.
How to set up the appearance
- Open the «Utseende» tab.
- Choose «Fargetema for butikken» (Colour theme for the store), for example «Alltid lys» (Always light) or «Automatisk + kundene kan overstyre (anbefalt)» (Automatic + customers can override, recommended).
- Write a short «Beskrivelse» (Description) of the store (max 500 characters).
- Choose «Primærfarge» (Primary colour) and «Aksentfarge» (Accent colour).
- Upload a «Logo». It is used in the webshop and on digital receipts, in colour.
- Optionally upload a separate «Logo for kvitteringsskriver» (Logo for the receipt printer). Check the preview under «Slik skrives logoen ut» (How the logo prints).
- Choose whether «Vis QR-kode på kvittering» (Show QR code on receipt) should be on.
- Press «Lagre endringer».
Good to know
- The till needs company details. You cannot open a shift at the till until the company name and organisation number are filled in.
- New locations inherit the address. When you create a location for the till, the company details are used as the starting point.
- Warnings from Enhetsregisteret. If the company has been deleted or declared bankrupt, you get a warning when you press «Hent». If the number does not exist, you get «Fant ikke foretaket» (Company not found).
- The QR code on the receipt lets the customer open the digital receipt, and lets the till look up the sale for a return or a copy. If you turn it off, it disappears from both paper and digital receipts.
- Changes are logged. Every save with changes is recorded in the audit trail, with which fields were changed.
- More webshop appearance, such as skins and content, is under «Nettbutikk» (Webshop). See Appearance, skins and content.
Frequently asked questions
Why doesn't «MVA» appear on my receipts?
The «Registrert i Merverdiavgiftsregisteret» switch is off. Turn it on and save if the company is VAT-registered.
Can I change the company name later?
Yes. Edit the «Firmanavn» field and press «Lagre endringer». New receipts get the new name.
