Appearance, skins and content
Choose a theme for the webshop, preview it, and adjust the header, font, front page, social media, SEO and custom scripts.
You control the webshop's look from two places: logo and colours live in the store profile, while theme, front page and marketing live under «Utseende og innhold» (Appearance and content). Your content – products, colours and logo – carries over whichever theme you choose.
Before you start
You need the permission «Utseende og merkevare» (Appearance and branding).
Logo, colours and light/dark mode
Go to «Innstillinger» (Settings) → «Bedrift» (Company) → «Butikkprofil» (Store profile) → the «Utseende» (Appearance) tab:
- «Logo» is used in the webshop and on digital receipts.
- «Favicon» is the icon in the browser tab.
- «Primærfarge» (Primary colour) and «Aksentfarge» (Accent colour) set the webshop's colours.
- «Fargetema for butikken» (Colour theme for the shop) decides whether the shop is shown light, dark, follows the customer's system setting, or lets the customer choose. «Automatisk + kundene kan overstyre (anbefalt)» (Automatic + customers can override, recommended) suits most shops.
Choosing a theme (skin)
- Go to «Innstillinger» → «Nettbutikk» (Webshop) → «Utseende og innhold». The page is titled «Nettbutikk».
- On the «Utseende» tab, under «Tema» (Theme), choose one of the themes available to your shop. «Standard» is the classic layout.
- Press «Forhåndsvis» (Preview) to open the webshop with the selected theme in a new tab.
- When you are happy, press «Lagre endringer» (Save changes).

Only you see the preview. At the top of the webshop you will see a bar reading «Forhåndsvisning av tema …» (Preview of theme …) with the link «Avslutt» (Exit). Your customers keep seeing the active theme until you save a new one.
Some themes have their own settings. If you choose «Modern», you get the section «Fordeler under menyen» (Benefits under the menu), where you can write up to three short lines (for example «Fri frakt over 500 kr» – free shipping over NOK 500) shown in a strip under the top menu. Leave the fields empty to hide the strip.
Other settings on the page
The «Utseende» tab
- «Topptekst» (Header) → «Vis i toppen» (Show at the top): «Logo og firmanavn» (logo and company name), «Bare logo» (logo only) or «Bare firmanavn» (company name only). Without a logo, the company name is always shown.
- «Typografi» (Typography) → «Skrifttype» (Font).
- «Betalingslogoer» (Payment logos): shows logos for the payment methods you have switched on, in the footer.
The «Forside» (Front page) tab
- «Vis hero-seksjon på forsiden» (Show hero section on the front page) adds a welcome section at the top with «Overskrift» (Heading), «Undertekst» (Subtext), «Bakgrunnsbilde» (Background image), «Knappetekst» (Button text) and «Knappe-lenke» (Button link). A wide image (for example 1920×800) works best.
- «Fremhevede kategorier» (Featured categories) shows a row of shortcuts to the categories you pick. Leave it empty to hide the row.
The «Markedsføring» (Marketing) tab
- «Sosiale medier» (Social media): links to Instagram, Facebook and TikTok in the footer.
- «Søkemotorer (SEO)»: «Beskrivelse for søkemotorer» (Description for search engines) is the text Google shows under the link. «Skjul butikken fra søkemotorer» (Hide the shop from search engines) is useful before launch.
The «Avansert» (Advanced) tab
- «Egne skript» (Custom scripts) lets you paste code into the
<head>of every shop page, for example Google Analytics or Meta Pixel. Only<script>,<noscript>,<meta>,<link>and HTML comments are allowed. - «Last først etter samtykke» (Load only after consent) is on by default. The scripts then run only once the visitor has pressed «Aksepter» (Accept) in the cookie banner. See Cookies and consent.
Good to know
- Changes only take effect when you press «Lagre endringer».
- If you switch theme and later switch back, that theme's own settings are kept.
- The till, receipts and the admin panel are not affected by the theme – it applies to the webshop only.
