Bookings and punch cards at the till

How to sell a booking at the counter, check guests in, view today's bookings, and sell and use punch cards at the till.

If you run activities, appointments or events, you can sell bookings straight from the till, check guests in when they arrive, and sell punch cards (klippekort) that customers later use to pay for bookings.

Before you start

  • The activity must be created and active, and «Selgbar i kassen» (Sellable at the till) must be switched on. See Bookings – resources and events.
  • You need the permission «Selge og sjekke inn bookinger i kassen» (Sell and check in bookings at the till). If you do not see «Book aktivitet» (Book activity) when you tap «Mer» (More), either you lack that permission or no activities are sellable at the till.
  • For punch cards: the punch card type must be active and have «Selges i kassen» (Sold at the till) switched on. See Punch cards.

Selling a booking

  1. Put the customer on the sale if the booking should be tied to a customer (see Customer on the sale).
  2. Tap «Mer» → «Book aktivitet». The activities are also listed under the till category «Bookbart» (Bookable).
  3. Pick the activity.
  4. Enter «Antall» (number of places).
  5. Pick a day and time. Tap «Nærmeste tidspunkt (drop-in)» (Nearest time – drop-in) to pick the first free slot. Free places are shown under each time.
  6. Fill in any extra fields. Fields marked * are required.
  7. If the customer is not registered, you can fill in «E-post (valgfritt)» (E-mail – optional) and «Telefon (valgfritt)» (Phone – optional). The customer then receives a confirmation and a check-in QR code. If you leave them blank, no message is sent.
  8. Check the price at the bottom and tap «Legg i salg» (Add to sale).
  9. Take payment as usual.

Good to know about booking sales

  • The place is held from when you add the booking to the sale until the sale is paid. If you remove the line or cancel the sale, the place is released.
  • Free bookings, for example for members, are confirmed straight away and show as a 0 kr line.
  • If the customer is blocked, a manager can tap «Overstyr sperre (leder)» (Override block – manager). If the time is outside the booking window, confirm with «Tidspunktet er utenfor bestillingsvinduet — book likevel» (The time is outside the booking window – book anyway).
  • If you see «Aktiviteten mangler prisvariant» (The activity has no price variant), someone responsible must set a price on the activity in the back office before it can be sold.

Paying for a booking with a punch card

If the customer on the sale has a valid punch card for the activity, the button «Klippekort (X igjen) — bruk N klipp» (Punch card – X left – use N punches) appears in the booking dialog. Tap it instead of «Legg i salg».

  • One punch is used per place. The card must have enough punches for the whole booking – you cannot split between punches and money.
  • The booking is added to the sale as a 0 kr line, because the customer paid when the punch card was bought.
  • If the booking is cancelled within the rules, the customer gets the punches back. For a no-show the punches are not returned.

Selling a punch card

  1. Put a registered customer with an e-mail address or phone number on the sale. Punch cards cannot be sold to the walk-in customer Kontantkunde.
  2. Tap «Mer» → «Selg klippekort» (Sell punch card).
  3. Choose the punch card type. You see the number of punches, validity and price.
  4. Take payment as usual. The card is created and linked to the customer when the sale is completed.

Checking guests in

  1. Tap «Mer» → «Innsjekk» (Check-in).
  2. Tap «Skann QR» (Scan QR) and hold the guest's check-in QR code up to the camera, or search by reference, name, phone or e-mail under «Til innsjekk» (To check in) and tap «Sjekk inn» (Check in).
  3. You see «Sjekket inn» (Checked in) with the activity, number of places and time. Tap «Sjekk inn flere» (Check in more) for the next guest.

If the booking is for a different day, the till asks first and you confirm with «Sjekk inn likevel» (Check in anyway). A booking marked «No-show» can also be checked in with «Sjekk inn likevel» if the guest arrives late. The «Sjekket inn» tab shows who is inside and whose time is up («Tiden er ute»).

You can also check in from the customer panel: open the customer, find the booking under «Bookinger» (Bookings) and tap «Sjekk inn».

Booking overview

«Mer» → «Bookinger» shows today's bookings as «Tabell» (Table) or «Kalender» (Calendar). Tap «I dag» (Today) to return to today's date. From here you can open the customer, open the sale or check in.

The web till and the till app

The till app (Kasse-appen) on Android can also sell bookings, sell punch cards, pay with a punch card and check in from the customer profile.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the punch card button not showing?

The customer on the sale must have an active punch card that covers exactly this activity, with enough punches for the number of places you chose. An expired card cannot be used.

The customer changed their mind before paying. Is the place still taken?

No. Remove the booking line or cancel the sale, and the place is released.
