Exporting reports

How to download a report as a CSV file for Excel or your accountant, what the file contains, and where to find Z-reports and SAF-T when you need the authoritative figures.

Owner/manager Back office Last updated 09.10.2026

Every report under «Rapporter» (Reports) can be downloaded as a CSV file. The file contains exactly what you see on screen – the same period, granularity, comparison and filters – and can be opened in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets.

Before you start

You need the permission «Eksportere rapporter (CSV, PDF)» (Export reports). The owner always has it. The Administrator, Butikkansvarlig (Store manager) and Regnskapsfører (Accountant) roles have it by default. Without the permission you do not see the button.

How to do it

  1. Go to «Rapporter» and open the report area, for example «Salg» (Sales).
  2. Choose the report from the tabs.
  3. Set «Periode» (Period), «Oppløsning» (Granularity), «Sammenlign med» (Compare with) and filters the way you want them.
  4. Click «Last ned CSV» (Download CSV) at the top right.
  5. The file is downloaded to your computer.

What the file contains

At the top of the file there is a header describing the extract:

FieldContent
«Rapport»The name of the report.
«Periode»From and to date.
«Oppløsning»Day, week, month or per row.
«Filtre»The filters that were selected.
«Sammenligning»The comparison period, if you chose one.
«Kilde»Source: «Hentet fra Z-rapport» (Taken from the Z-report) or «Beregnet fra salgsdata» (Calculated from sales data).
«Oppdatert»When the figures were last updated.
«Status»«Informasjonsrapport – ikke Z-rapport» (Informational report – not a Z-report).

Below the header comes the table, with the same columns and rows as on screen.

Good to know

  • Comma-separated, with decimal commas. Columns are separated by commas, and amounts use a decimal comma, for example 1234,50. The file is UTF-8, so æ, ø and å come out correctly. If everything lands in one column in Excel, use Excel's import function for text files and choose comma as the delimiter.
  • Large reports. A file can have up to 10,000 rows. If the report is larger, you get the message «Rapporten er for stor for direkte nedlasting — del opp perioden» (The report is too large to download directly – split the period). Choose a shorter period or a coarser granularity.
  • Exports are logged. Every download is recorded in the audit trail (kontrollspor) with who, which report, period and filters – but never the content.
  • Information, not documentation. A CSV from «Rapporter» is not accounting documentation and does not replace the Z-report.
  • Printing. You can also print the report page from your browser.

Authoritative figures: Z-report and SAF-T

Frequently asked questions

Can my accountant fetch the reports themselves?

Yes. Give your accountant a user with the Regnskapsfører role. It has read access to the reports and can download CSV files, Z-reports and SAF-T.

Why doesn't the CSV file match the Z-report?

Usually because the report covers several channels, registers or days. See Sales reports and the Z-report – the difference.
