Manual payment is for payments that do not go through a payment provider, such as a bank transfer or payment on collection. The customer orders, and you record yourself that the money has arrived. Manual payment is switched on for new shops, in both the webshop and the till.

Before you start

  • You need the «Betalingsmetoder» (Payment methods) permission to change the settings.
  • If you want to send the customer an invoice, use the invoicing and credit sales feature instead. The invoice is then created in your accounting system. See Invoicing and credit sales.

How to do it

Give the payment method a name and instructions

  1. Go to «Innstillinger» (Settings) → «Salg og betaling» (Sales and payment) → «Betalingsmetoder» (Payment methods).
  2. Find the «Manuell betaling» (Manual payment) card.
  3. In «Visningsnavn» (Display name), type the name the customer should see, for example «Bankoverføring» (Bank transfer). Leave it empty to use «Manuell betaling».
  4. In «Betalingsinstruksjoner» (Payment instructions), write what the customer should do, for example your account number and that the payment should be marked with the order number. The text is shown to the customer after ordering.
  5. Click «Lagre» (Save).
  6. Choose channels under «Kanaler:» (Channels), and under «Tilgjengelig for:» (Available for) whether it can be used for «Vanlige ordrer» (Regular orders) and/or «Abonnementer» (Subscriptions).

When the customer has paid (webshop)

An online order with manual payment gets the status «Venter på betaling» (Awaiting payment). No money has been taken.

  1. Check that the money has arrived in your account.
  2. Open the order under «Salg» (Sales) → «Ordrer» (Orders).
  3. Click «Marker som betalt» (Mark as paid) and confirm.

Read more about the order flow in Handling online orders.

At the till

When the cashier chooses manual payment, the till shows «Manuell betaling — ingen elektronisk transaksjon. Ordrens status settes til betalt.» (Manual payment — no electronic transaction. The order status is set to paid.) The sale is completed straight away, and the till treats the amount as received. The button at the till uses the display name you chose.

Good to know

  • You are responsible for following up the payment. Cmerce does not check your bank account.
  • Do not use manual payment for a card taken on a standalone terminal at the till. That should be recorded as card, so it ends up correctly on the Z-rapport (end-of-day report).
  • On the X and Z reports, manual payments have their own line, «Manuell», even when the amount is zero.
  • In the webshop, the customer can pay part of an order with a gift card and the rest with manual payment.
  • Every change on the card is logged in the audit trail.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have both «Bank transfer» and «Pay on collection»?

No, there is one manual payment card with one display name. Choose a name that covers what you offer, and explain the options in the payment instructions.

Can I switch off manual payment in the webshop but keep it at the till?

Yes. Untick «Nettbutikk» (Webshop) under «Kanaler:» and leave «Kasse (POS)» (Till) ticked.
