A webshop selling to consumers must inform them about the terms of sale, the right of withdrawal and how personal data is handled. Cmerce gives you three ready-made pages with default text – «Personvernerklæring» (Privacy policy), «Kjøpsvilkår» (Terms of sale) and «Angrerett» (Right of withdrawal) – which you adapt to your shop. The pages are linked automatically from the webshop footer and from checkout.

Before you start

You need the permission «Juridiske sider» (Legal pages).

How to do it

  1. Go to «Innstillinger» (Settings) → «Nettbutikk» (Webshop) → «Juridiske sider».
  2. Choose the tab you want to edit: «Personvern» (Privacy), «Kjøpsvilkår» or «Angrerett».
  3. Change «Tittel» (Title) and «Innhold» (Content). You edit the content as normal text with headings, lists and links.
  4. Press «Lagre endringer» (Save changes). You get the message «Juridiske sider lagret» (Legal pages saved).

Legal pages, the «Angrerett» (Right of withdrawal) tab

Where the pages appear

  • In the webshop footer under the links «Personvern», «Kjøpsvilkår» and «Angrerett».
  • At checkout, below the «Bekreft kjøp» (Confirm purchase) button: «Ved å bekrefte kjøpet godtar du våre kjøpsvilkår. Du har 14 dagers angrerett.» (By confirming the purchase you accept our terms of sale. You have a 14-day right of withdrawal.) – with links to both pages.
  • In the order confirmation e-mail, as a link to the withdrawal page (see below).

Right of withdrawal in confirmations

On the «Angrerett» tab you will find the switch «Inkluder angrerett i bekreftelser» (Include right of withdrawal in confirmations). It is on by default. Order and subscription confirmation e-mails then include a short text about the right of withdrawal and a link to the withdrawal page with the standardised withdrawal form.

The text adapts automatically to what was bought:

PurchaseThe withdrawal period runs from
Goodsthe day the customer receives the goods
A service, or a subscription to a servicethe day the agreement was made
A subscription with regular delivery of goodsthe day the customer receives the first item

Only switch it off if your offering is not covered by the right of withdrawal, or if you provide that information in another way.

What the default pages contain

  • Privacy policy: the data controller, what data is collected, purposes, legal basis, retention (including 5 years under the bokføringsloven, the Bookkeeping Act), the customer's rights and cookies.
  • Terms of sale: prices in NOK including VAT, ordering and payment, delivery, right of withdrawal, complaints and disputes.
  • Right of withdrawal: the withdrawal period, how to withdraw, repayment, and a withdrawal form the customer can fill in.
