Multiple stores and switching between stores

Each Cmerce store is completely separate: its own products, customers, registers and reports. If you run several stores, or an employee works in several of them, the same person can still get access to all of them and switch between them without signing in again each time.

Before you start

• Access to another store is always granted with an invitation from that store. Having a user with the same email address is not enough.
• The person sending the invitation needs permission to manage users in the store concerned.

How to give someone access to your store

1. Sign in to the store the person should get access to.
2. Go to «Innstillinger» (Settings) → «Tilgang og sikkerhet» (Access and security) → «Brukere» (Users).
3. Press «Inviter til butikk» (Invite to store).
4. Enter the person's «E-post» (Email) and choose «Rolle» (Role).
5. Send the invitation.

The person receives an email with the subject «Invitasjon til å administrere» (Invitation to manage) followed by the store's name. The link is valid for 7 days and can only be used once.

How to accept an invitation

1. Open the email and click the link.
2. If you do not already have a user in the store, one is created. You receive a separate email to set your password.
3. If you already have a user there, you see the message «Du har nå tilgang til butikken. Logg inn.» (You now have access to the store. Sign in.)
4. Sign in to the store.

How to switch between stores

1. Click your name in the user menu at the top right.
2. Choose «Bytt butikk» (Switch store).
3. The «Dine butikker» (Your stores) page lists the stores you can switch to. Pick one.
4. You are signed in to the other store automatically.

«Bytt butikk» only appears once you have accepted an invitation to at least one other store.

Signing in when you have several stores

On Cmerce's sign-in page, enter your email address and press «Finn butikken min» (Find my store). If the email address has access to several stores, the «Velg butikk» (Choose store) page appears. Pick the store you want and enter your password for that store.

Good to know

• Each store has its own account. Password and two-factor sign-in are set per store. Changing your password in one store does not change it in the others.
• Your role is per store. You can be the owner of one store and a cashier in another.
• Only staff can switch. Webshop customers are never shared between stores.
• Access is removed in each store. If your user is deleted in a store, or you lose your role there, that store disappears from «Bytt butikk».

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I see «Bytt butikk»?

You have not yet accepted an invitation to another store, or your access has been removed. Ask the owner of the other store to send you an invitation.

Can I see figures for all my stores combined?

No. Reports always show figures for the store you are signed in to.
